Founder and managing director of Sahara Homes, Sharon Kaur, joined the judging panel at the 2016 Sikh Awards’ ceremony on Saturday 19 November 2016, which was televised on PTC PUNJABI (Sky channel 815).
The international event, which took place at the Park Plaza Hotel in Westminster, London, celebrated the achievements of inspirational and influential individuals from a diverse range of faiths and backgrounds.
After being specially selected to join a panel of five judges all recognised as established leaders in their individual fields, Sharon had the task of scrutinising the nominations and awards entries prior to the ceremony.
Winners from the UK included Sterling Media CEO Natasha Kaur Mudhar for the Sikh People’s Choice Award, charity Khasla Aid for the Sikh’s in Charity Award, television channel Akaal for the Sikhs In Media Award and many more.
Speaking after the event, Sharon Kaur of Sahara Care said: “It was a real honour to be personally selected to join the panel of judges at such a phenomenally prestigious event.
“The ceremony itself was fantastic and the task of judging the entries among so many talented and influential people wasn’t easy. I would like to wish everyone who was nominated the very best in their future endeavours“.
Sharon Kaur herself has previously featured in the official top 100 list of people in the Worldwide Sikh Community from 2012-2014 (with the Prime Minister of India usually ranking at number one).
